Florence County's Waterfalls

Florence County has seven waterfalls, all located along the Pine and Popple Rivers. The beauty and solitude of their settings easily compensates for the lack of a spectacular water drop. For a relaxed and leisurely pace the clockwise trek round the county to all seven falls should be split into a two-day excursion. See the accompanying map.  However, you can experience the attempt of 2 people to visit 6 of the waterfalls in 1 day.

For a small donation, a brochure giving driving and walking directions to each of these waterfalls is available at the Florence Wild Rivers Interpretive Center.

Be advised that trails to these falls are hilly and unimproved, requiring more than normal physical effort.  Many of the roads leading to them are unimproved and may wash out or become impassable during spring thaw and during wet periods. Provisions for trash collection are not provided at these sites. Please pack out whatever you pack in. Most of all, enjoy exploring the natural wonders Florence County.

Little Bull Falls, Big Bull Falls, Washburn Falls, and Jennings Falls are located on the Popple River.  Meyers Falls, Bull Falls, LaSalle Falls, and Pine River Falls are located on the Pine River.
